Frilly Bits is the brainchild (sometimes wiful child!) of Hannah and Claire, two friends from Nottingham who both love vintage, pretty things.

Hannah and Claire spent a long time planning to make different items of clothing and lingerie for themselves, pretty, glamourous, vintage inspired fripperies to make life a little more pleasant.  Then Hannah suggested we open our lingerie making experiments to others, both to act as an impetus to get things done and to spead the joy that we knew others would feel making glamourous items by themselves, for themselves.  Hence Frilly Bits.

Anyone that has met Hannah or Claire in “real life” will know that they both have far more fabric, patterns, ribbons, notions and general stuff than is probably good for them, although they know that they aren’t the only ones! By using patterns, sharing ideas and getting inspiration from people taking part it may actually make a dent in the stockpile of fabric too!

It may help to give you a little bit of back ground on Hannah and Claire before we start sewing together – make sure we’re properly introduced, so to speak.  Hannah is a designer/ maker/ tutor who has a studio in Sherwood, Nottingham where she creates beautiful vintage inspired clothing and accessories.  And she has a stash of vintage treasures anyone would covet!  Claire is just starting out as a lecturer and a crafter making vintage inspired / often kitsch accessories, gifts and homewares.
