Hannah’s Beautiful Spring Slip
April 27, 2009 | 1 Comment
I have been playing Frilly Bits catch up, so here is my completed slip which i can’t wait to wear but today it has been raining and it’s not been summer dress weather. So lets keep our fingers crossed for a sunshine filled day so I can wear this little number out.
I made it from 1940s cotton print lingerie fabric which i bought many years ago and was waiting for the perfect project to use, i am so pleased with the result.
I made it up using this 1940’s Simplicity pattern and changed it to have a lace appliqued edging in pink.

Lace applique detail with roulou loop straps.
Gathering under the bust.
I made a placket for the opening and attached poppers.
Antique lace attached at bottom by machine.
Back view.
I have another cut out in this lovely rayon flower print and i think i will make a ruffled edge for the bottom…can’t beat a ruffle!

p.s. We are having a bit of problem with the layout, it seems to jumble everything up so bear with us while we try to fix it!
